Interview with Student JayTee
The interview I just conducted was about literacy and how reading and languages can affect the way a person understands it. I came up with a few questions to carry out the interview much easier and it helped a lot. In fact, I was honored to interview a young man who suffers from dyslexia. Although, he has that lack of comprehension he is still a very bright person. As I began the interview I asked him if he enjoyed reading and he said that he did, because it transported him into a different reality and he was able to see things in a different perspective. Also, I asked him how many languages did he speak and he said that he spoke english and spanish, but that it was fairly difficult for him to learn the second language since it was already quite hard to learn the first due to his illness and his lack of understanding. Therefore, he did have issues when he was first learning how to read and write, because he first started speaking at the age of 5. He found the mechanics of the language to be very hard, which also affected his vocabulary. However, no matter how much that affected him he found an interest to read more and more books to be able to enhance his intelligence. Besides, wanting to understand and learning more from a book, this young man also read to learn how to present himself in audiences, because books showed him that no matter what you say you cannot be shy. At the end of the interview I was so interested with all his answers and realized that no matter how disabled of any cause you might be you still are eager to learn different things in life and you can never underestimate anyone.
